The Cardinal Chorale (MUEN 1131), directed by William Gokelman, is the primary vocal ensemble of the UIW Music department and is one of the largest student organizations at UIW. Members include students from many different academic disciplines and, occasionally, UIW faculty and staff.
The Chorale represents UIW via seasonal performances and concert tours throughout San Antonio and Texas, and several Southern states. Highlighted performances include two in Carnegie Hall (2010 and 2000), Lincoln Center (2017) and numerous radio and television appearances during the Christmas season.

The UIW Cardinal Jazz Band (MUEN 1182) (formerly the UIW Jazz Ensemble) is led by ensemble director Jim Waller and performs a professional-level jazz repertoire that includes swing, funk and Latin. Ensemble membership is open to UIW students, faculty and members of the community. The UIW Cardinal Jazz Band is currently the only college jazz ensemble from San Antonio to have performed at the famed Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland (Summer 2009). The ensemble also performs regularly at the Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi, the St. Mary's Fiesta Jazz Festival, and at The Cove Restaurant on the last Wednesday of every month, when circumstances allow.

The Cardinal Red Basketball Band, or CRBB, (MUEN 1182) is the official basketball pep band for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. The band offers riveting performances throughout basketball games, helping to excite the crowd and energize the Cardinals as they compete for conference championships and selection for post season play. The CRBB is directed by Dr. Brett A. Richardson, UIW director of bands and coordinator of Music Education.
Students are compensated for performances and the season typically begins in the late fall or winter after marching band ends. Adidas apparel is provided as a uniform.

The UIW Cardinal Singers (MUEN 3122), directed by William Gokelman, is a chamber choir with 10-20 members. The Singers perform music of an intricate or intimate nature, usually demanding a high level of musical competence. The Singers typically perform in concerts with the Chorale and are often invited to sing at events throughout San Antonio and for the University.

The Marching Cardinals (MUEN 1140) are directed by Dr. Brett A. Richardson, coordinator of Music Education/Director of Bands. Founded in 2009, the Marching Cardinals has established itself as one of the most visible, energetic spirit organizations at UIW. Comprised of students studying a wide variety of academic majors, the Marching Cardinals performs at every home football game, select away games, events off-campus and in exhibition at marching contests around San Antonio and Austin. The band typically plays three halftime shows and a traditional pre-game drill every year as entertainment for the UIW football game day experience.

The Music Therapy Student Association, here at UIW, offers students the opportunity to network with other Music Therapy students and Board Certified Music Therapists locally and nationally, to help raise funds to attend music therapy conferences and a source of information about opportunities for music therapy students. This association represents the students who are working towards earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy. For the most part, the members of the music therapy students' association is is composed of students who are studying the clinical applications of music, blending musical skills with specialized training in the areas of psychology and the behavioral and natural sciences. However, this association welcomes students who are interested in the field of music therapy.

The UIW Music Ministry serves the community of the University of the Incarnate Word by fostering and enhancing an environment of worship through musical prayer. We are comprised of volunteers from the university - students, faculty, administrators and staff - as well as members from our local community who participate as choir members, cantors, and instrumentalists. The Orchestra of the Incarnate Word (MUEN 1181), conducted by Terence Frazor along with concertmaster Richard Kilmer, brings together UIW music students and faculty with professional and amateur musicians from the San Antonio community.
The orchestra performs a variety of works from the standard repertoire. Concerts are performed on UIW's Broadway campus and at other venues throughout San Antonio and Bexar County. Some of South Texas's most outstanding musical artists have appeared as soloists with the orchestra, including violinist Matthew Zerweck and pianists Rick Rowley, Nicole Cabello and Zachary Ridgway.

Founded in 2009 and conducted by Dr. Brett A. Richardson, the Wind Ensemble (MUEN 1185) serves the UIW community as the premier wind band on campus. The Wind Ensemble, which traditionally performs two concerts annually, is open to all students who have a woodwind, brass or percussion background. Select members typically participate in the Baccalaureate Mass at the end of the Spring semester.

We are a group of students from different areas of study gathered together to better our understanding of the art of Digital Film. We share our ideas and goals in order to not only expand our personal horizons, but to build an integral network and hopefully create works of art together as a team and continue to build that bond way after we graduate.

KUIW, the Universe, is The University of the Incarnate Word's own radio station. Led by students in the Communication Arts Department, we encourage students to volunteer as a DJ and learn about how a radio station is operated.

UIWtv is dedicated to providing the University of the Incarnate Word community with a variety of quality programming that informs and entertains while promoting the same core values and mission of the University.
Students at UIWtv produce live newscasts, specialty shows, such as Cardinal Nights, Spanish segments, CardStock, and Short Film Cinema. Students receive hands-on training in live broadcasting, camera operation, interviewing skills, and on-camera performance. UIWtv also provides students with real-life production experience in remote broadcasting. The UIW Commencement Ceremony, UIW Athletics games, and the UIW Cutting Edge Fashion Show are some examples of the opportunity’s students have to hone their production skills.

The LOGOS newspaper is written, edited, and run by students here at UIW. We are the longest running student media on campus with both our physical paper and online paper. Volunteers are always welcome to write, photograph, or pitch ideas for our newspaper.

Ink is UIW's English Club and was established for the purpose of providing a community for the appreciation of literature and creative writing, as well as to provide a venue in which faculty can advise students on post-graduation prospects, such as employment applications, in addition to opportunities and options for graduate studies. We want to educate and promote the importance of literature in a person's life.

Fashion

The purpose of the Fashion Society is to promote a greater and broader insight of the fashion industry and to foster unity of fashion major and minor students currently enrolled at the University of the Incarnate Word. The Fashion Society works with a variety of charitable organizations and events through out the year. The students also work at local fashion events. Students in the Fashion Society attend Career Day in Dallas, Texas. This event is a competition for both Fashion Merchandising and Fashion Design students. There are also panel discussions, classes, and networking opportunities for students.
